This 2-week “bootcamp” style course will introduce researchers from biology or physical science backgrounds to key fundamental concepts and practical approaches in understanding cellular functions. The focus is to develop a breadth of knowledge that allows bio-science researchers to pursue further depth in their respective research work.

Major topics include the central dogma of molecular biology, gene cloning and editing, microscopy and bioimaging, image analysis and quantitative methods in biology and the choice and limitations of model organisms.

The Bootcamp lectures are open to all interested graduate students and post-docs. For graduate students the lectures will be reinforced in thematic-based practicals, leading to 2-MC.

There are two types of registration:  1. Open registration (for Open lectures) and 2. Student registration (leading to 2-MC).

NOTE: Graduate students who would like to read MB5104 as a graded module and counted towards CAP. Successful student registrants will be notified via email by 17 July 2015. More information coming soon.
